Engagement of Our Services

I understand that the Appraiser is an uninterested third party. As such, I understand and agree that payment for services is not contingent upon the development or reporting of a predetermined value or direction in value that favors the client. I understand and agree that any fee collected by the Appraiser is for the completion of the agreed-upon property, assignment type, and scope of work. I understand and agree that should I decide to change the property, assignment type, scope of work, or any other aspect of the assignment after the initial agreement, there may be additional fees and/or extended report delivery times, unless agreed to by the Appraiser.

I understand and agree that any fee paid is for completion of the appraisal only and DOES NOT include fees for extra services such as court testimony or appearances, depositions, legal proceedings, wait time, or other services not outlined during the initial engagement. I understand and agree that should the Appraiser be requested or required to provide any such services, I may be responsible for the payment of additional fees as negotiated with the Appraiser. Fees for such services must be negotiated with the Appraiser, in writing, and in advance of the performance of such services. I understand and agree that all payments are final.

No refunds will be granted after the appraisal has been started. I understand and agree that I will provide access to the property or, at minimum, supply information and/or make other arrangements that will enable the Appraiser to collect any property details as deemed sufficient to complete the appraisal. I understand and agree that should the assignment not be completed due to no fault of the Appraiser, no refund will be provided.

I understand and agree that any assignment results and report, either written or oral, are prepared for the client and the agreed upon purpose only. Any use of the assignment results or report by parties or for purposes not outlined as part of the initial engagement is not authorized. I understand and agree that the Appraiser takes no responsibility for changes in market conditions and no obligation is assumed to revise the assignment results or report to reflect events or conditions which occur after the effective date of the appraisal. The real estate market is always subject to change and any assignment results are based on market conditions as of the effective date of the appraisal.

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of J Alexander Grant Appraisal Group and its licensors.
